Transportation between the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Hotel

Public Transportation (LightRail and City Bus combo) costs $2.25 or $1.75 one way, depending on time of day. To plan your trip go to http://www.metrotransit.org/ and in the Trip Planner enter From "Airport Terminal 1 - Lindbergh Station" and To "McNamara Alumni Center" as well as the date and approximate time you expect to travel. Choose a trip option with only one bus after the LightRail stop. An additional transfer should not be needed. Or contact the hotel (612-379-8888) to see about the availability of the hotel shuttle to pick you up at the LightRail Metrodome Station.

Super Shuttle:  At the airport, follow the signs that say "Ground Transportation."  Once there, ask for the Super Shuttle.  Give them the name of the hotel you are staying at -- University Hotel Minneapolis.  The charge is $19 per person one way.

Taxi costs about $34-40 one way.

Hotel Parking

Parking is available behind the hotel.  The daily parking fee is $12.50 per day per vehicle, which includes "in and out" privileges to registered overnight guests.

Hotel Shuttle Service

The University Hotel Minneapolis has complimentary shuttle service within a five-mile radius of hotel (based on availability. Shuttle charge may apply for groups and/or reservations).

The University Hotel Minneapolis is easily accessible from 35W and Interstate 94. It is located on the East Bank Campus of the University of Minnesota, only 1 block from the McNamara Center conference site.

University Parking Saturday with a Spring football game at the TCF stadium

For parking on Saturday, the $8 event rate will be posted early in the morning (prior to 8am) for the Spring Football Game. Parking & Transportation Services expect that many of the attendees for football will be parking in the surface lots over by the stadium for tailgating. If any conference attendees are staff or faculty who have a parking contract with the U of M, they are able to use their reciprocal parking privileges at the University Ave. Ramp to park at no additional cost. It is actually cheaper for conference attendees to park in the University Ave. Ramp for the $8 event rate, as opposed to the hourly rate (which would be $11 per car from 8am-2pm).
